Hong Kah Military Band aka HKMB, was set up in 1994. We took part in our first Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Concert Bands in 1997 and we achieved a bronze medal. Currently, HKMB has a strength of about 40 crazy and energetic member who all have the passion of learning as well as enjoying music. In 2005, under the baton of Mr Hoe Kong Foo, our band participated in the SYF Central Judging of Concert Bands which was held at the Singapore Conference Hall, we managed to achieve a silver award. Our band participated again in the SYF in 2007 under the baton of Mr Hoe Kong Foo and despite of all our hardworks, we achieved a bronze award. HKMB had also participated in various performances such as Ngee Ann City performance, Speech Day, Balloon Hat Festival, National Day as well as CCA Open House. Currently, 2008 has made a big impact on our lives as Mr Philip took over the baton from Mr Hoe. We will continue to strive for our very best and shine under the baton of Mr Philip. The Band aims to provide pupils opportunities to explore their musical talents through practical sessions and music theories. It is an avenue for young musicians to share ideas and experiences and to work on their musicianship and to build team work in fun and nurturing environment. Mrs Vivian Lock
